What you'll do

Who this fits
This role suits an engineer who wants broad ownership across product and infrastructure, with responsibility for technical decisions. You’ll work in person in Soho, New York, six days a week. The hiring process includes an in-person NYC session.

Insurance is a $10T market that still runs on phone calls and legacy software. Truvo is building the first autonomous consumer insurance broker with a single goal: enabling Americans to never worry about insurance again.
We work with 50+ (soon 100+) carriers like GEICO, Root and Lemonade to quote, bind, and service policies across auto, home, pet, and more.
Earlier this year we raised our seed from top funds and people like the founders of MongoDB, Wayve, Business Insider, Octopus and Indeed, and are expanding aggressively. We're a small team that works six days a week in-person in Soho, NYC. The hours are flexible (no 996 or anything like that); we care about winning, not performing.
What you might work on (product)
AI agents for quoting, binding, and servicing insurance policies. Creating magic at every touchpoint.
Our consumer web, mobile and agentic apps.
Truvo OS, our internal system which unifies 20+ legacy insurtech systems into a single platform, currently used by our internal sales team.
Truvo Platform, our public API and developer portal. We embed within fintech apps, property management software, and more.
What you might work on (backend/infra)
API integrations with the largest insurance companies in the US.
DevEx, building and maintaining the infra that allows us to ship fast and safely.
Voice AI infra, enabling us to meaningfully interact with customers at scale.
Data warehouse infra and building ETL pipelines for financial industry and consumer data.
Security/compliance/privacy. Keep households' data safe in a heavily regulated industry.
Our engineering culture
We aggressively improve and experiment with our internal tooling, testing, and CI systems to enable us to ship to our customers quickly and safely; on the order of hundreds of production changes per day.
You have full freedom (unlimited token budget, no required approvals, etc.) and full responsibility (ownership of decisions you make and their consequences).

What you need
2+ years of software engineering experience preferred
Comfort building with (and for) AI agents
Bonus: experience with insurtech, fintech, voice AI, or complex integrations
