  • Talk with customers about product needs, then turn their feedback into fixes and feature changes
  • Set technical direction for agent memory and long-running outbound workflows
  • Review code and designs, and work alongside teammates on difficult engineering problems

What you bring

  • At least three years of engineering work, with strong experience in React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python or a related stack
  • You have shipped AI features and handled agent failures, including creating evaluations that prevent repeat issues
  • You learn quickly, ask thoughtful questions and are comfortable validating new features directly with customers

Who this fits

This role suits an engineer who wants to build AI product features, shape core technical choices and mentor teammates. You need to be based in San Francisco and work from the office at least three days a week.

From the employer

About Nooks.ai:

Nooks is an applied AI lab building the Agent Workspace for GTM. We design AI agents that operate across the full sales action set, from account strategy to prospect research and outreach. Building 0→1 has never been easier, but selling at the speed of the market remains the last frontier for AI. Our mission is to 10x every seller by automating the busywork so they can focus on what humans do best: closing deals.

Today, over 1,500 customers run on Nooks, including Notion, HubSpot, Cursor, and Rippling. We’ve raised $70M+ from top VCs like Kleiner Perkins, which made its first sales-tech investment in over a decade with us. Since then, we’ve tripled ARR each year for 3 years running and grown a high-caliber team turning the art of sales into a scalable science.

About the Role

Sales software was built for humans. But we believe most sales work will be done by agents within the next two years. We're building out multiple vertical products (AI Dialer, AI Prospecting, AI Sequencing, Agent Studio) to get there. Reps use Nooks as a "copilot" and spend 4+ hours a day across these different product lines. If you want to build a category-defining sales product, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll do

  • Build AI features that drive revenue, end to end. Define the success metric, ship across React/TypeScript and Node.js/Python, and iterate until it moves. 1,100+ customers depend on this product daily.

  • Work directly with customers. Our biggest accounts have shared Slack channels with our engineers; you'll be on calls with users one day and shipping fixes back to them the next.

  • Make foundational technical decisions. How should agent memory work per rep? What's the right primitive for a long-running outbound strategy?

  • Mentor others on the team. Run code and design reviews, and pair on the hardest problems.

You might be a strong fit if:

  • 3+ years of engineering experience, with depth in something close to our stack (React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python).

  • Production experience with AI features. For example, you've debugged misbehaving agents and built the evals to keep issues from recurring.

  • Strong opinions, held loosely, about what the product surface of human-agent collaboration should look like.

  • Not afraid to hop on a call with a customer to validate a feature you just built.

  • You learn fast and ask good questions.

  • Based in San Francisco, excited to be in-office 3+ days per week.

At Nooks You'll Enjoy

  • A world-class team. Around 40 engineers, mostly former founders or founding engineers and veteran builders from places like Applied Intuition, Scale, Airtable, Citadel, and Jane Street. Thirteen Olympiad medals across the team.

  • Compounding learning. Sitting next to former founders and founding engineers is the fastest way to skip a few years of mistakes.

  • Top-of-market compensation.
