Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
The Embedded Software Engineer is responsible for design and development of our various hardware initiatives in communications, consumer products, as well as EV charging products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Be involved in design and development of a portfolio of niche consumer hardware products for the grid edge needed to support the energy transition and support of consumer solar and batteries, EVs, home automation, consumer energy management, etc.
- Collaborate with the development team to understand use cases and create products that meet customer needs.
- Research and apply new technologies in operating systems, business applications, and GUIs on embedded hardware products.
- Configure, build, and deploy embedded Linux OS with drivers on customized hardware platforms.
- Develop communication interfaces such as DNP, MQTT, OPC UA, and others.
- Create test applications and test plans to ensure the quality and reliability of the code.
- Learn new technologies and skills and immediately apply them to solve problems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to bring up prototypes and troubleshoot issues.
- Support customer interactions including technical discussions, technical demonstrations, etc.
- Develop presentation and/or data sheet collateral if needed.
- Other technical and engineering duties as assigned from time to time.
